Students develop communication skills that allow interaction with a good degree of confidence and spontaneity in concrete interactions of daily life, in self-interest and in conversations in where it is necessary to express opinions and support ideas. You will use materials such as literary texts, newspaper articles, videos, etc. which will serve as a framework for oral practice.
Advanced Conversation Course 1 (C1) The program includes readings of novels by Carofiglio’s contemporary authors, games to enrich the vocabulary (new versions of Taboo *), videos on Italy. Oral grammar practices can be carried out on request. We will pay particular attention to the use of you / us in expressions: such as eating a pizza, approaching, playing / betting your head and other similar expressions. We will explain the idioms (get by, do it) and their use in the present, present perfect and subjunctive. * Taboo is a game where you have one word and a variety of different definitions that you are not allowed to use (they are taboo). The student must then find other words and make other syntactic constructions to guess the word he is holding.
Advanced Conversation Course 2 (C2) The advanced conversation course 2 provides the oral practice of complex grammatical structures such as the hypothetical sentence, the subjunctive, the concordance of tenses and the use of indirect speech. The use of idiomatic expressions and specific oral language formulas will also be addressed, without forgetting the activities aimed at improving pronunciation and intonation.
