Course levels
The Institute offers 12 levels which correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Duration: for each level is 42 hours per session. Classes are given twice a week, during the day, in the evening or once a week on Friday or Saturday morning.
Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 (A1)
This level is for beginners. Once you have completed this level, you will be able to interact with very simple sentences and expressions concerning your daily life and your personal interests. You will be able to express your essential and concrete needs.
Elementary 1 and Elementary 2 (A2)
This level is intended for students who have already attended the A1 level course or who have had their first contact with the Italian language without going deeper into it. When you have completed this level, you will be able to use and understand phrases about familiar topics, you will be able to describe your immediate environment, your education, and discuss topics related to your immediate needs.
Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 (B1)
This level is aimed at students who have taken courses at level A2 (elementary 2) or who have already studied the Italian language for several years and who are able to interact easily on subjects concerning their daily life and their personal interests. Once you have completed these two courses, you will generally understand a dialogue in standard language, you will get by on a trip to an area where the Italian language is spoken, you will be able to give a simple speech about your areas of interest and you will will be able to tell something, describe a dream, a hope, present a project or an idea.
Intermediate 3 and Intermediate 4 (B2)
This level is aimed at students who have attended B1 level courses or who have already studied the Italian language for several years and who are able to interact effectively as long as communication takes place in the standard Italian language. Once you have completed these two courses, you will understand a concrete or abstract dialogue, even within the framework of technical discussions in your specialty; you will maintain spontaneously and fluently, tension-free, clearly expressing your opinions on many topics and presenting the pros and cons, as appropriate.
Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 (C1)
This level is intended for students who have taken level B2 courses or who have already studied the Italian language for several years and who are able to interact in the Italian language easily, even in a complex situation. By completing the steps provided in this level, you will understand a large number of long and complex written, audio and visual texts, as well as their implicit notions; you will express yourself fluently and flexibly in the Italian language in the context of your social or professional life, you will control the organization of your speech, its cohesion and its articulation. Your linguistic competence will also be accompanied by an in-depth knowledge of Italian culture.
Improvement 1 and Improvement 2 (C2)
This level is intended for students who have followed level C1 courses or who have already studied the Italian language for several years and who are able to interact in the Italian language easily and in a manner appropriate to the situation and context. social. Completed the level, you will effortlessly understand almost everything you read and hear; you will express yourself fluently and in a refined way, including nuances of meaning in relation to complex subjects. Your linguistic competence will be enriched by an in-depth and critical knowledge of Italian society and culture.
