For the Spring session from May 1st to June 19th, 2026, we offer 2 laboratory :
- Theater Workshop “L’Italia in scena” – Practicing Italian through Theater – 14 hours
“Italy on Stage” is a theater course consisting of 7 workshops, designed to practice Italian in a lively and immersive way. This original program invites you to use Italian in real and inspiring situations: commenting on lesser-known historical sites in Rome, discussing paintings at the Uffizi Gallery, recreating the atmosphere of a café in Naples, or meeting in Venice during Carnival. Each session concludes with the reading of a scene from modern Italian theater. No prior theater experience is required; sessions are playful and open to everyone.
Period: May 7th → Juin 18th, 2026
Frequency: Thursday from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.; in person

An artist and educator specializing in theater, Marinella Montanari has been based in Montreal since 2020. She combines international experience in performing arts and cultural management, using theater as a tool for language learning and social interaction. She integrates her skills in dubbing and vocal techniques to enrich cultural discovery.
- Musical Awakening Workshop (for children 0 to 6 years of age) “O mio bambino caro”
Offer your child a unique and enchanting musical awakening experience with Silvia Buttiglione, cellist and teacher. This one-hour workshop invites young children to discover the richness of Italian music through play, singing, and movement, while stimulating their psychomotor development and curiosity.
Program: greeting and free play, Italian songs and nursery rhymes, exploration of works by Rossini and Puccini, movement and dance, active listening, percussion instrument exploration, and a relaxing moment to gently close the workshop.
Benefits: development of rhythm, coordination, and language skills in a warm and nurturing atmosphere.
Duration: 1 hour per workshop, total of 3 hours
Period: May 2nd, 9th, and 16th, 2026
Schedule: Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in person
Instructor: Silvia Buttiglione, violinist and teacher
For who: Children from 3 months to 6 years of age
Note: A parent or guardian must be present for the entire workshop. Registration is for all three sessions. The language used will be adapted depending on the participants.
Silvia Buttiglione is an educator and performer, recipient of the Royal Conservatory Teacher of Distinction Award. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Her work covers a diverse repertoire, from early music to contemporary works. She is also a member of the Quebec Music Teachers Association.
