“Salone EXTRA”, the Turin Book Fair arrives online

The Turin Book Fair, the most important Italian publishing fair, will organize a series of online conferences from the 14th to the 17th of May, in place of the event that was supposed to be held during the same period at the Lingotto in Turin and which was postponed to a date to be determined because of the coronavirus.

The series of online conferences and meetings with various authors, scholars, musicians and actors – has been called “Salone EXTRA” and for four days on the Show website and on social channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) it will be possible to follow, from home, a program of streaming events and interact with guests who responded to the call launched by the event.

It begins on Thursday, the 14th of May, with the inaugural lecture by Alessandro Barbero, in connection from the Mole, and continues with speeches by Jovanotti, Samantha Cristoforetti, Zerocalcare, Arturo Brachetti, Francesco Piccolo, Pietro del Soldà with Amitav Ghosh and the guys from Fridays For Future. And, furthermore, writers, directors and artists such as Francesco Piccolo, Ahdaf Soueif, David Quammen and Paolo Vineis, Vinicio Capossela, and also Catherine Camus, Roberto Saviano, Myss Keta, Annie Ernaux and Fabrizio Gifuni. André Aciman and Alessandro Baricco, Salman Rushdie and many others also responded to the appeal.
