In collaboration with ‘Lisez l’Europe’, the reading circle dedicated to the novel ‘L’isola delle anime’ by the famous crime writer Piergiorgio Pulixi.
Attendants will have the honour of conversing with the author, who will be present for the occasion.
In a Sardinia tormented by bloody and inexplicable murders, the novel tells the story of Maria Rais and Eva Croce, two female inspectors who are confined to the “unsolved crimes” section of the Cagliari police headquarters, to investigate a series of murders of young women. Driven by an unstoppable inner strength, they soon find themselves facing yet another case of mysterious disappearance that seems to have all the characteristics of a curse.
Considered one of the leading exponents of the new generation of Italian noir and thriller writers, Piergiorgio Pulixi was born in 1982 in Cagliari, Sardinia. He has published several award-winning crime novels, including “L’Île des âmes” (Scerbanenco Prize) and “L’Illusion du mal” (Fedeli Prize). His novels have been translated in several countries, including five titles in French.

The conversation will be animated by Nicoletta Dolce, lecturer in the Department of Literature and World Languages at the Université de Montréal.
