Conference, in French, by Fabio Scetti, Doctor in Linguistic Sciences Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and International Researcher-CIRM Member / McGill University.
Fabio Scetti will present the two interviews carried out last year to Teresa Buttino (Commission de Services Scolaire de Montréal – CECM), who represents the community but who has also followed the changes in the education system in Québec since the 1960s, we will travel through history, observing the problems related to the adaptation of migrants towards the education system of Québec as well as those of the system towards migrants; just like George Hadzocos (CECM liaison officer-analyst), who closely followed all the changes and adaptations of the period.
In the early days of the promulgation of Law 96, fear crept into the Italian community, a community often involved in educational issues related to the choice of languages. It would be interesting to understand if we really talk about choice and above all to understand who chose and how. Guests will be happy to answer questions and share their professional experience with the public.
