At first glance, Sardinia is made up of crystal-clear beaches, rich gastronomic traditions, and incredible landscapes, making it a well-known tourist destination frequented by many travelers. However, this sunny view overlooks more complex aspects of some areas of the island, especially inland.
Some areas of Sardinia, in fact, have been characterized-especially in the past-by a culture marked by sociopolitical relations typical of a pastoral society.
Added to this was the custom of settling scores and restoring “order” through a practice of justice made more of personal vendettas than of decisions made within the courts.
This created a society with its own dynamics: a universe inaccessible to outsiders, to non-Sardinians.
Have such practices been abandoned or do they still mark the daily life of some communities?
To answer this and many other questions, we offer two exceptional guests: writer Piergiorgio Pulixi and anthropologist Antonio Sorge.
The literary and fictional reality of the writer will balance the ethnographic analysis of the anthropologist.
Wednesday, October 16th, 6:30 p.m.

The gaze of mystery writer Piergiorgio Pulixi will get you inside the heads of his characters, making you relive their emotions and torments, while Prof. Antonio Sorge, professor of anthropology at the University of Toronto, will offer his lucid and systematic look at the complexities of the culture and society of the Sardinian hinterland.
In the muggy heat of a Sardinian summer, feel the thrill, feel the story and discover the mysteries hidden on the island famous for its myrtle.
