On the occasion of the 26th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, dedicated to the theme “A Brilliant Language: Imagining, Designing, Creating in Italian” the Italian Cultural Institute of Montréal invites you to an online conference by Professor Alessandro Colizzi, exploring Italian design and its role in contemporary culture and society.
Italian design is now an essential component of Made in Italy, with the ability to influence lifestyles and markets. It encompasses various fields, including everyday objects, furniture, interior design, fashion and graphic design.
Design is a complex industrial and social phenomenon that goes beyond aesthetics, encompassing the ways in which objects are conceived, produced and used. In Italy, design has developed through a long and multifaceted process, giving rise to a distinctive relationship between industry, craftsmanship and design culture.
This conference aims to examine a selection of iconic products, designers and industries within their economic, technological and social contexts.
