The Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal is pleased to announce that this year’s the Week of the Italian Language in the World, will be held October 15th to October 21st, under high patronage of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The theme for the week of the Italian language of 2018 is very vast: “L’italiano e la rete, le reti per l’italiano”. In Quebec, during the week the following cultural events will be held opened to the public:
• Tuesday October 16, 2018 – Annamaria Testa, “La bella lingua si è fatta un lifting” conference;
• Tuesday October 16, 2018 – Annalisa Andreoni (Università IULM di Milano), “Amare l’italiano. Dalla tradizione all’oggi le ragioni di una passione” conference;
• Wednesday October 17, 2018 – Annamaria Testa, “Mamma mia, che lingua parlano gli Italiani d’oggi?” conference;
• Wednesday October 17, 2018 – Annalisa Andreoni (Università IULM di Milano), “La lingua più bella. Opinioni di scrittori, artisti e gente comune sull’italiano” conference;
• Thursday October 18, 2018 – Annamaria Testa, “Il lato selvaggio della lingua italiana, anzi il wild side” conference;
• Thursday October 18, 2018 –Annalisa Andreoni (Università IULM di Milano), “La lingua dell’amore e la lingua della beffa, la lingua dell’arte, della musica e della scienza: l’italiano degli scrittori” conference;
• Friday October 19, 2018 – Elisa Brilli (Toronto University), “Le retrouvailles di Dante e Beatrice e il ‘gabbo’ sventato” conference;
The Week of the Italian Language in the World is an event promoted by the cultural and diplomatic network each year in the third week of October, around a theme that serves as a guideline for the organization of a cultural program focused on the diffusion of the Italian language. The initiative was founded in 2001 by an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Academy of Crusca.
