On the occasion of the 30th edition of the Festa della Musica Italiana, the violinist and composer Luca Ciarla will perform on Friday June 21, at 6.00 pm, at our Institute.
Luca Ciarla is a creative and surprising musician who crosses the boundaries between musical genres, between jazz, classical and folk sounds, without ever losing his unmistakable innovative style, a magical acoustic seduction in perfect balance between writing and improvisation, tradition and contemporaneity, which led him to successfully perform at jazz, classical and world music festivals and concerts in more than seventy countries around the world; from the Montreal Jazz Festival to Performing Arts Centre di Hong Kong, from the Celtic Connections in Scozia to Festival Villa-Lobos di Rio de Janeiro, from the Melbourne Jazz Festival to the Opera di Dubai and at theAuditorium Parco della Musica di Roma.
The eclectic musician from Molise will be on stage with his solOrkestra, a fascinating solo project that sees him perform with a loop pedal, his voice, piano, electronics and various toy instruments. The program includes original compositions imbued with Mediterranean atmospheres, with a minimalist flavour, and unusual arrangements of the Italian popular tradition.
La Festa della Musica, born in Budapest on November 1st 1997 with a manifesto of principles, it takes place every year on 21 June, the day of the summer solstice.
