A Conversation with Sandro Veronesi: A Leading Voice in Contemporary Italian Literature

Join Sandro Veronesi for a special conversation in an exclusive interview hosted by Claudia Larochelle. Sandro will reflect on his life and literary career, exploring themes that run throughout his work, including family ties, personal upheavals and the passage of time. A leading figure in contemporary Italian literature, he is the author of Caos calmo (winner of the Strega Prize and the Prix Femina étranger) and The Hummingbird, which earned him a second Strega Prize. In Black September, readers are transported to the Tuscan coast in the summer of 1972, where twelve-year-old Gigio discovers music, literature and first love. As the Munich Olympics attack dominates the headlines, a personal tragedy marks the end of his childhood. Weaving together family memories and collective history, the novel explores the loss of innocence, the power of language and the transition to adulthood.

An exceptional opportunity to meet one of the leading voices in contemporary Italian literature.
