During her residency, Luana Rigolli explored the connections between the history of shipwrecks that have marked the shores of the Magdalen Islands and the geology of a territory itself shaped by movement, erosion, and the elements. Through photography, she draws parallels between the remains of shipwrecks still visible along the coast, materials salvaged from these wrecks, and the island landscapes which, like the wrecks themselves, bear the traces of time and natural forces.
She will present a selection of images from this body of work and from her artistic practice, and engage in a discussion with the public about her creative process and residency experience.
The event will also take place in the presence of the artists of Tables insulaires, who are currently in residence with AdMare.
