Martha is desperate. Her seriously ill father Kurt booked himself into a euthanasia clinic in Switzerland and she is supposed to accompany him. Since she has not been able to get behind the wheel since a traumatizing accident, Martha asks her best friend Betty to drive them in Kurt’s old rickety Golf. But the road trip takes an unexpected twist when Kurz asks for stopover at Lake Maggiore, where it turns out that he lied about the reason of the trip. And Betty reveals a secret about her stepfather Ernesto, who supposedly died years ago.

This film inaugurates the ‘Interrail’ cycle, a journey through contemporary European cinema, organized by the EUNIC cluster in Montreal (European National Institutes for Culture) in collaboration with the FIL (International Literature Festival)
