Born in Lecce, August 16, 1967, he studied architecture. In 1996, after graduating, he began working as a decorator. In 1998, Matteo started working as an illustrator working for the Italian magazine Il Messaggero dei Ragazzi and for the American publisher Boyds Mills Press. He contributes to the edition of textbooks and school books. Matteo mainly specializes in historical illustrations and collaborates with Italian publishing houses such as Mondadori Scuola, Carlo Signorelli Editore and Einaudi Ragazzi. In the 90s, Matteo also published his first comics in the Italian magazine Schizzo. But it was only in 2000 that he began his official debut in the world of comics with the Wick Rebelle series written by Zidrou. This series will become proTECTO and for which it will obtain, in 2012, the prize of the best Comicon designer from Naples. He will then collaborate on the collective series Vampyres before publishing The Guardians of the Underworld, with Alcante in the script. In 2013, Matteo found his friend Zidrou for an open series that now has three volumes: Marina, Venice in the days of the Doge.
