Reading the works of Italo Calvino without resorting to words: this is what the exhibition Italian Excellence. Figures for Italo Calvino, organized on the occasion of the centenary of the writer’s birth, thanks to the collaboration with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Bologna.
The exhibition, consisting of 31 illustrations, is a unique opportunity to relate to Italo Calvino’s texts, those designed for a young reader’s reading, and fairy tales imagined as shared reading between adults and children. At the same time, it becomes a significant medium to present to the world children’s publishing, a space of research, of quality proposals, vital for the education of future generations.
This edition presents the visitor with a historical and geographical look at one of the greatest interpreters of Italian literature who turned words into images, presenting thirty-one Italian and some foreign authors.
