The exhibition explores how women and collectives led by Italian, Canadian and international female architects have elevated the quality of modern and contemporary design, offering inspiring models for the new generations.

Opening:
February 12 from 6 p.m.

Exhibition:
February 13 to April 6, 2025

The exhibition consists of several sections:

  • The Stories of Italian Women Architects section, curated by Pippo Ciorra, Elena Motisi, and Elena Tinacci from the MAXXI Museum in Rome, showcases the works of 21 women who have transformed architecture from 20th-century pioneers, such as Lina Bo Bardi and Gae Aulenti, to younger generations.
  • The Practices in Italy section focuses on the important contributions of six international women architects who have completed significant projects in Italy during the first 20 years of the 21st century such as Zaha Hadid, Liz Diller, and Kazuyo Sejima.
  • A section dedicated to selected projects by Québec’s women architects, distinguished by the excellence of their work, curated by Louise Pelletier from UQAM University.
  • A section showcasing the work of Canadian women architects operating outside Québec.
  • A section curated by Federica Sala, focusing on the design creations of pioneering architects who worked in the post-World War II period, such as Gae Aulenti, Nanda Vigo, Anna Ferrieri Castelli, Franca Helg, and Cini Boeri.

The exhibition also features a timeline that highlights the most significant achievements of women in architecture over the past 100 years, focusing on the local and global socio-political contexts.

The public is invited to participate by sending images and texts that will be displayed as postcards, giving voice to those who support women in architecture.     https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc6BidDIvu_gkxp1TM21PPgRPs2h8jdkvv7basF7ki-rhQNsQ/viewform
