Between the autumn of 1897 and the summer of 1898, four families live together on a farm in the Bergamo plain, sharing joys, hardships, and everyday life. A deep bond of solidarity develops among them, rooted in work, traditions, and faith. When Batistì uses the landowner’s tree without permission to make a wooden clog for his son Menek, he is expelled from the farm. His departure with his family leaves the community helpless in the face of poverty and an uncertain future.
