From November 23 to 27th, almost 3,000 activities await the participants in the 45th edition. Chiara Mezzalama and Giuliano da Empoli, thanks to the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Montréal, they will participate in the Book Fair 2022.

Encounter with Giuliano da Empoli.
The Italian-Swiss writer and essayist, Giuliano da Empoli, will present his first novel, « Le Mage du Kremlin », a story that plunges us into the heart of Russian power. Da Empoli was a political advisor, in particular to the former Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi. He directs the Volta think tank in Milan and teaches at Sciences Po Paris. His penultimate book, « Les ingénieurs du chaos » (Lattès, 2019), dedicated to the new masters of political propaganda, has been translated into twelve languages. A success with audiences and critics since its release in the spring, « Le Mage du Kremlin » earned its author the Grand Prix du roman de l’Académie française 2022, as well as being a finalist for the Prix Goncourt. Pénélope McQuade will animate the meeting.

“Cabaret de langues” – Chiara Mezzalama
Celebration of the art of translation, of our literature through a plurality of languages. The authors, including Chiara Mezzalama, will read excerpts from their works in which the transition from French to foreign languages goes smoothly!
