The writer will talk about her two most recent novels: Vittoria (Feltrinelli, 2018) and Qualcosa di vero (Feltrinelli, 2015).

Vittoria (Feltrinelli, 2018)
Vittoria Conti, a 46 year old photographer from Genoa, who has always been able to navigate through the difficulties of life thanks to a valid combination of good sense and humour. However, when her partner leaves home, her world comes crashing down. Disoriented and in the midst of a creative crisis, Vittoria finds herself alone, without a job and anxious of no longer knowing what the future holds for her.

Qualcosa di vero (Feltrinelli, 2015)
Giulia is a successful publicist who thinks that childhood is just a market niche until one night, drunk, she trips over a little girl, Rebecca, which is the daughter of her new neighbor. Giulia starts to tell her fairy tales everytime that the mother is mysteriously gone. Barbara Fiorio was born in Genoa. She teaches communication and she holds writing workshops, such as the Gruppo di Supporto Scrittori Pigri (GSSP), which is now at its 10th edition. She debuted in 2009 with C’era una svolta (Eumeswil) and then she wrote several novels: Chanel non fa scarpette di cristallo (Castelvecchi, 2011), Buona fortuna (Mondadori, 2013 – Spanish edition for Suma de letras, 2014), Qualcosa di vero (Feltrinelli, 2015 – German edition for Thiele-Verlag, 2016) and Vittoria (Feltrinelli, 2018). She published for Einaudi the tale La gattara (from the anthology Gatti. I racconti più belli, 2015), for Morellini she wrote Noi eravamo quelli che…, a short story about the 2014 flood (in the anthology Genova d’autore, 2017) and for Il Canneto she published the story Laura e Carlo (from the anthology Il ponte, 2018). In 2019 she came back to her first work, extending and updating it, and she published with Morellini the second edition of C’era una svolta. Cosa hanno in comune Andersen, i Grimm e Perrault con Disney? Niente.Anderson.
