Like There is no Tomorrow is a documentary film that intimately tells the story of a group of activists engaged in a campaign of non-violent civil disobedience. As in many other European countries, the Ultima Generazione group has attracted the attention of the media and politicians through roadblocks and controversial defacement of institutional buildings and works of art. They define themselves as the last generation that has the possibility of slowing down the exponential growth of the climate crisis. The documentary tells, through the eyes and stories of five of them, what happens behind the scenes of the protests, and what it means to expose yourself in the first person. In the background of the activists’ journey, stories emerge of territories and communities already affected by the negative effects of the climate crisis, omens of a future that appears more uncertain than ever. A film that tells of our difficulty in being a community and of the desire, despite everything, to try again together to imagine a better tomorrow.
