A researcher and professor at Università degli Studi di Torino, Simona Bonelli specializes in studying the most vulnerable butterfly species in her home country of Italy. She works to develop best practices for species conservation and, increasingly, to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and policymakers involved in conservation. Her research has enabled her to understand the great vulnerability of nature, of which humans are a part, and she works, through participatory science, to bring together as many people as possible to this vital cause.
