Meeting with Tommaso Melilli: a cook writer

Within the framework hors les murs, le Salon dans la ville of the Montreal Book Fair, the Italian Cultural Institute in collaboration  Gallimard Diffusion are pleased to invite you to an interview with Tommaso Melilli, Italian chef, columnist and author of the book “L’Écume des pâtes” (Folio 2022). This encounter will be in French and will be animated by the columnist and host Ariane Cipriani.

A native of Cremona, in Lombardy, Tommaso Melilli moved to Paris at the age of eighteen to study contemporary literature and philosophy. Three years later he started working in restaurants. He is a columnist for Slate and for La Repubblica. In 2018, he published an essay in French, Spaghetti Wars (Edition Nouriturfu). “L’écume des pâtes” is his first book written in his mother tongue. Tommaso teaches at the Istituto d’arte applicata e design (IAAD) in Bologna and lives in Milan.
