The travelling Genius Award 2018

May 27 2017, the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal and the Vittoriale degli Italiani inaugurated the award “The travelling genius: Italians of art, literature, science … in the world“, submiting to the young Italian chemist Andrea Paolella, a researcher at the Institut de Recherche Énergie Québec (IREQ) of Hydro-Québec.

The 2018 Travelling Genius prize goes beyond the borders to the United States to return to Italy. On December 14, 2018 at 12.00 in Brescia (Palazzo Broletto) the Italian Astrophysics of NASA Eleonora Troja will be awarded.

Eleonora Troja, was born in Palermo in 1981 and studied in her hometown: classical maturity, then a degree and master in Physics and Astrophysics (both achieved with 110 and first-class honors ) and finally a research doctorate. In 2009, the turning point: NASA offers her a scholarship. Nine years later, she is still in America: she is an astronomer researcher at the University of Maryland and works at NASA’s Goddard Space Center, one of the world’s largest space science labs. Last month she was awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the best Italian researcher abroad.
