The street artist “Millo” at the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal

The Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal is pleased to announce a meeting in Italian open to the public with the artist Millo.

Thursday September 6 at 6pm
Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal
1200, Avenue du Docteur Penfield
Free entry

The occasion will allow Millo, an internationally renowned artist, to speak to the public about the secrets of his art and the history that led him to explore the world of street art. Millo’s drawings are distinguished by a clever use of black and white, in which architectural and urban elements are merged to create a city world, in which characters with nostalgic features move. The anthropomorphic figures they explore – as in a dream – its most intimate boundaries and come to life through small symbols, brightly colored elements that illuminate his works of intense emotion. The result is a unique style, of which Millo will tell us the genesis and secrets, in which confusion and tranquility will come together in a magical atmosphere.

Known as Millo, Francesco Camillo Giorgino was born in Mesagne in 1979, a small town in the province of Brindisi and moved to Pescara, where he still lives, to earn a degree in architecture. His passion for drawing has led him to become an artist and participate in numerous street art festivals. 2014 saw him win the B.Art competition, winning him the chance to paint 13 walls in the city of Turin. His art, however, has not stopped in Italy. His works are scattered throughout Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Paris, London, Luxembourg and Rio de Janeiro, all with common characteristics. An almost exclusive use of black and white, with some rare points of colour, a clean line, murals full of details, which incorporate, as much as possible, the elements of the surrounding architecture.
