Thanks to the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, we are pleased to announce this year, Joele Anastasi will participate at the Rencontres internationales de jeunes critiques professionnels des arts de la scène 2018 edition.
Les Rencontres internationales de jeunes créateurs et critiques des arts de la scène consists of a 11 day event, from May 28th to June 7th 2018, realized on the occasion the 12th of Festival TransAmériques which will take place from May 23 to June 7th 2018. Grouping together more than twenty young professionals between 25 and 35 years – artists and critics performing from Quebec, Canada, and abroad – encounters are conducted in French in the form of seminars, inside which participants are invited to deepen their reflection on contemporary scenic creation, to compare their artistic realities and their critical views and share their expertise with other participants . A mediator will accompany them throughout the project.
Joele Anastasi, class of 1989, actor, director and playwright. After a two year period of training at the International Academy of Musical of Catania, left Sicily to further his study in acting. He attended the three-year program at the Link Academy, a bilingual drama academy in the capital where he studied in Italian and English. Over a span of very dense years of artistic and acting training, getting close to different methodologies of the work. 2013 marks his debut at a young age (23 years), as a director and playwright of “Io, mai niente con nessuno avevo fatto”, show debut Vuccirìa Theater company founded together with Enrico Sortino.
