The Italian Institute of Culture in Montreal is pleased to support the Italian musicians Francesco Canavese and Francesco Giomi who will introduce “The Sdeng Project” during the 15th edition of the Akousma Festival, an international digital music festival.
This musical experience leads us from the digital music to a musical universe constituted of elements issued from the industrial society and from the everyday life that are revised and organized in various rhythmic structures. During this journey live sounds intertwine in a makeshift manner, by evoking sound, cinema and music. “The Sdeng Project” has been already presented in Prato, Carpi, Gent, Vienna, Basel, Fosdinovo, Florence and Copenaghen.
Sdeng has been created within “Tempo Reale“, a research centre founded by Luciano Berio, thanks to the partnership between Canavese and Giomi. They have both cooperated with artists such as Uri Caine, David Moss, Jim Black, Sonia Bergamasco, Virgilio Sieni, Micha Van Hoecke and others.
