Starting April 2nd, 2026, the film series First Works, New Perspectives takes you on a journey through today’s Europe, as seen through the eyes of an emerging generation of filmmakers.
This series highlights films that explore intimacy, relationships with others, the impulses of the heart, the unsaid, and contemporary upheavals, both personal and collective. These works are examples of a free and inventive cinema, sensitive and unusual, offering refreshing visions of the cinema of tomorrow. Discovering these films today is an invitation to curiosity and discovery, in the warm spirit of Cinéma Public.

These screenings are part of a series of contemporary European films organized by EUNIC Montreal, in collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Ottawa, the Consulat général de France à Québec, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Montreal, the Wallonia-Brussels General Delegation in Quebec/Canada, the Italian Cultural Institute in Montreal, the Goethe-Institut Montreal, and the Alliance Française de Montréal.
