“Italian Filmmakers” Cycle – Screening “After the war” by Annarita Zambrano

“After the war” by Annarita Zambrano [It.Fr., 2017, 92 min, OVSTF] – Bologna, 2002. The protest against the labor reform explodes in the universities. The murder of a labor lawyer reopens old political wounds between Italy and France. Marco, a former left-wing militant, convicted of murder and a refugee in France for 20 years thanks to the Mitterand Doctrine which allowed former terrorists to find asylum beyond Alpe, is suspected of being the instigator of the attack. When the Italian government asks for his extradition, Marco decides to run away with Viola, his teenage daughter. His life fell into the abyss, including that of his Italian family, who, from one day to the next, find themselves forced to pay for their past sins.
