The Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, on the occasion of the 6th edition of ICFF 2018 ITALIAN FESTIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY FILM, is pleased to host a meeting in Italian open to the public with the famous actor and comedian Claudio Bisio.
The occasion will allow our guest to talk about his career as an actor and his relationship with the cinema. In particular, a very successful film will be presented in which he will be the protagonist, “Benvenuti al Sud”. A disruptive comedy, instrument for reflection and knowledge of reality, “Benvenuti al Sud” is one of the top ten of the best box office of all time in Italy. An effervescent comedy that tells the story of a northern manager struggling with an unexpected move to Campania, which stages many faces of today’s Italy.
On the occasion of the screening, the public will be given the opportunity to ask questions to the comedian who, since 1990, has been the protagonist of a brilliant career in the world of Italian and international entertainment.

Plot: Alberto is the manager of a Post Office in a small town in the northwest of Italy. Under pressure from his wife Silvia, he will do anything to get a transfer to Milan, even going so far as to pretend he is disabled to get higher up on the transfer list ! But this trick doesn’t work and as a punishment he is transferred to asmall town in the southern Campania region, which, for a person from the north, is a real nightmare. Full of prejudice, Alberto leaves alone to brave what he considers the land of camorra, full of dirty, lazy southerners. But, to his surprise, Alberto will instead find a fascinating place, with friendly colleagues, very hospitable people and a new best friend, the postman Mattia, who he will help to win the heart of the beautiful Maria.
