As part of the 27th edition of MUTEK, the International Festival of Digital Creativity and Electronic Music, and with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, two projects featuring three Italian artists will be presented: Donato Dozzy, Neel (Giuseppe Tillieci) and Sara Persico.

This support will also enable Creative Director Adriano Martella and Artistic Director Auronda Scalera to participate as guests at the MUTEK Forum, taking part in the programme of meetings and discussions dedicated to digital creativity and new forms of artistic expression.

Adriano Martella presents Art at the Heart: Ceremonies as Symbiotic Ecosystems, a reflection on the design of Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies as participatory ecosystems, with the beating heart sequence of the Milano Cortina 2026 Opening Ceremony as a central case: a work that moved across ceramic sculpture, digitization, and collective bodies to explore disturbed authorship at planetary scale.

Opening the day, curatorial duo Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti, known for projects including Art Dubai Digital, Noor Riyadh, Web to Verse at Manchester Metropolitan University/MODAL, and Cosmotechnics at Fondazione Querini Stampalia in occasion of the Venice Biennale, deliver a keynote that traces how curatorial practice has been fundamentally transformed over the last decade by technology, co-creation, and new modes of perception and knowledge production.

Thirteen years after their cult debut, Donato Dozzy and Neel (Giuseppe Tillieci) return with a live performance based on II, released in December 2025. Fluid rhythms, submerged textures and hypnotic ambience unfold slowly, pulling the room into a deep, meditative zone where ambient techno dissolves all sense of time.

In the audio-visual interpretation of SphaîraSara Persico and Mika Oki invite audiences into an ambient universe where the boundaries between external stimuli and internal perception blur. Inspired by the vaporous acoustic qualities of the Experimental Theatre dome in Tripoli, the performance folds fractal imagery, breathy drones, and abstract stroboscopic effects into a hazy, mesmerizing, and profoundly introspective dance.

Founded in 2000, MUTEK is dedicated to presenting live electronic music and real-time audiovisual performances, making the festival one of the few platforms in North America dedicated to these forms of innovation. After more than 20 years of existence, the festival’s pioneering mandate has evolved while remaining committed to the constant transformations and developments of contemporary digital creativity, with its eyes and ears always turned toward the future.
