Operapop in concert in Montreal. An exciting evening of pop notes with lyric sounds

Don’t be fooled by the italicized title of the artists in question – Operapop is a perfect synthesis of classic traditional opera and modern pop music that can be translated into Operatic Pop, a “pop-stylized operatic music style”, which is open to all music lovers, from the uninitiated to the experts. No prior experience or knowledge of this new musical genre is necessary to enjoy this fusion of pop music and and traditional opera!

Sunday February 10, 2019 – 3pm
Theatre Desjardins
1111 Rue Lapierre, LaSalle
Tickets: 30$. Info: Liliana Pelini (514)-486-9596

Who is Operapop? Marchigiani Enrico Giovagnoli, tenor, and Francesca Carli, soprano, met while attending the Conservatorio “G. Rossini” of Pesaro. After graduating with the highest marks, they concretized the idea of creating a musical experience founded on the
theatre and their love of pop and rock music. To encourage them with this project was none other than Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, who had given life to this new field of music, and who guided them as his pupils. From this time forward, this duo has become famous throughout Italy and Europe, winning various awards and benefitting from prestigious collaborations, in particular with famous Italian singer Little Tony.

With this optimal pedigree, Operapop will be making its first appearance here, in Montreal, thanks to a joint initiative by a pool of sponsors from the Marche Region, ALMA Canada, the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal and under the Patronage of the Italian Consul General in Montreal. With the support of Confcommercio Pesaro e Urbino, Caisses Desjardins de Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Canadienne Italienne e di Lasalle, Quebec Gouverment, Dignité, Dajet, ENERGY Transportation Groupe, Buffet Il Gabbiano and Noel Spinelli.

Don’t miss out on this splendid occassion to discover these two young italian talents, where you will also enjoy a “culinary” pre-show with a tasting of “Pizze Rossini and Raffaello”, prepared by Chef Otello Renzi.
