On June 25, 2026, at 6PM, the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal presents OLTREMARE, an original project born from the encounter between Montreal-based guitarist Samuel Bonnet and Genoese double bassist Massimiliano Rolff, who first met at Jazzahead! in Bremen in 2024.
Following a Ligurian tour in the summer of 2025 alongside drummer Rodolfo Cervetto, the two musicians decided to develop an ongoing collaboration between Europe and Canada, united by a shared search for an acoustic, intimate, and elegant sound suspended between jazz and chamber music.
To complete this drumless trio — a rare and refined format in contemporary jazz — saxophonist Frank Lozano joins the project as the ideal partner for exploring new sonic landscapes and improvisational dynamics.
Samuel Bonnet — guitar
Massimiliano Rolff — double bass
Frank Lozano — saxophone
