On the occasion of the 45th edition of the Montreal Book Fair, Gallimard Diffusion and the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal are pleased to invite you to an unprecedented meeting with the Italian author Chiara Mezzalama, hosted by journalist and commentator Claudia Larochelle. This event will take place on Wednesday November 23 at 5.30pm at Librairie Gallimard.
Born in Rome and daughter of a diplomat, Chiara Mezzalama spent her childhood between Morocco and Iran. A writer, translator and psychotherapist, after studying at the French school in Rome, she has always mixed the two languages and the two cultures. Her novels are published in Italy by E/O editions. Best-seller in Italy, her novel Dopo la pioggia - published in France, in the spring of 2022 under the title "Après la pluie", published by Mercure de France - was selected, in 2021, for the prestigious Premio Strega, the 'Italian equivalent of Goncourt. Author also for children, her album Le jardin du dedans-dehors (Les éditions des éléphants / 2017), inspired by her childhood in Iran, was crowned in France by the Prix Saint-Exupéry and the coveted Prix Sorcières. The author lives between Paris and Rome.
