“Vertigine di Giulietta” – Compagnia blucinQue

As part of the 13th edition of Montréal Complètament Cirque (July 7 – July 17 2022), the Italian Cultural Institute of Montréal is pleased to present the show Vertigine di Giulietta by the Italian company blucinQue.

Oscillation, flight, loss of balance, tension, for a work of research on the movement and composition between theater, live music, text and circus disciplines, in a conceptual and fluid space. In the perimeter traced by a dance on the theme of “amorous vertigo”, which investigates a soul prone to waver and get lost of young lovers, there is space for the choreographic and sound composition of the work of blucinQue: bodies, light and live music become the voice of the same song, punctuated in sequences as short acts.

Wednesday July 13 2022 – 9:00pm
Théâtre de Verdure
3939 Av. du Parc-La Fontaine, Montréal
Free outdoor event

The blucinQue company, founded by the choreographer and director Caterina Mochi Sismondi, has always been engaged in a research and fusion project that integrates dance theater, live music, contemporary circus, embracing and making its own suggestions and expressive resources deriving from different disciplines and languages, ranging from the more properly performing arts to literature, cinema, visual art. In this path and on the line of an artistic vision shared between the choreographer and the performers, central in the work of creation are the themes of “being out of place”, of continuous displacement, of identity, of limits, of imbalance, of relationship between space and movement, with attention to the gesture and the theatrical sign aimed at going beyond the boundaries of genre.
