"Archipelago" – Exhibition

A repertoire of images and stories lead to the discovery of the forms of living of some small islands scattered in the Italian seas: landing on the island presupposes the availability of a new form of knowledge and a new dimension of travel. It means dealing with small communities and with a certain sense of disorientation.

Corinna Del Bianco investigates four archipelagos - the Tuscan Archipelago, the Aeolian Islands, the Egadi Islands and the Pelagie Islands - telling a story of profound transformation marked by the effects of tourism and displacement, by the mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion, by the ever-changing relationship between the island and mainland. Corinna Del Bianco's photographic notebook reflects on the relationship between architecture and landscape, in a continuous exchange of plans between the built and the sea, and therefore between the land and the sea.
