"Zerynthia. Metamorphosis" - Exhibition



The Galerie de l'UQAM in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, presents a fascinating group exhibition focused on listening, poetry and changing worlds. Result of the complicity and frequent exchanges between the Galerie de l'UQAM, the Associazione per l’arte contemporanea Zerynthia and RAM radioartemobile, the project brings together the work of artists mainly from Italy and Canada.

The artists involved: Jean-Pierre Aubé, Patrick Bernatchez, Iginio De Luca, Jimmie Durham, Maria Thereza Alves, Yona Friedman, Alberto Garutti, Geronimo Inutiq, Myriam Laplante, Alanis Obomsawin, Marina Paris, Cesare Pietroiusti, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jonida Prifti, Annie Ratti, Michael Snow.

The exhibition is curated by Louise Déry, Anne Philippon, Mario Pieroni / Dora Stiefelmeier, Claudio Libero Pisano.

Zerynthia Associazione per l’Arte Contemporanea, is an ODV (voluntary organization), with operational headquarters in Rome and registered office in Paliano, founded in 1991. It promotes and organizes contemporary art events in Italy and abroad with the aim of broadening the boundaries towards a fruition of art always experimenting with new ways. It is proposed as a light and flexible structure that collaborates with public and private bodies. Zerynthia has created an international operational network and also carries out an intense didactic activity with Academies and University Institutes at national and international level.

RAM radioartemobile, founded by Dora Stiefelmeier and Mario Pieroni in 2003, it is a platform for contemporary art dedicated to sound research and exhibition activity. RAM creates exhibitions and art projects by collaborating with public and private spaces around the world, combining visual and sound art. RAM since 2004 has set up the SAM SoundArtMuseum, a permanent archive of Sound Art works, at the Roman headquarters.
