The narrator of this book is the grandchild of Raimondo Lanza di Trabia, a sicilian prince, extravagant and charming, in the nine months following the beginning of the Second World War trustworthy spy of Galeazzo Ciano, foreign minister and Mussolini's son in law. His mission? To lead a secret battle against Italy's entry into the war in favour of the Reich.
