Did you know that one leaf could hide an entire forest? Beba Restelli, one of the most famous Italian art educators, teaches us some of the secrets of artistic creation, making us play from home with a simple technique: frottage. Together we will also discover Beba’s master, Bruno Munari (1907-1998), an Italian genius with 1,001 professions and author of beautiful books and games for children. Online creative workshop for children from 5 to 10 years old and their families, in English and Italian.

Bruno Munari (1907-1998), one of the most important Italian artistic personalities of the 20th century, excelled in many fields – from abstract art to advertising graphics, from industrial design to illustration – and he exerted a profound influence on contemporary visual culture. His children’s books, which have radically renewed the tradition of illustrated books, are real works of art. The witty stories, full of surprises, match with unusual graphic tricks and materials, stimulating imagination, interactivity, and sensory experiences. Munari has also dedicated a large part of his professional activity to educational projects aimed at encouraging creativity, autonomy, and the spirit of initiative in children.

Beba Restelli, workshop facilitator. Former student and co-worker of the artist, she is one of the founding members of the Bruno Munari Association®, for which she trained art educators in the Bruno Munari Method®. She develops educational projects in schools, museums, and libraries and promotes the teachings and works of the Milanese designer. She is the author of numerous texts on didactic activities aimed at discovering art and nature.

Maria Ricci, initiator and moderator of the webinar. An architect and expert in museum education projects in the fields of architecture, art, and design, she has worked for many years for numerous German cultural institutions, including the Bauhaus-Archiv/ Museum für Gestaltung in Berlin, the Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau, and the Kunstraum of the German Federal Parliament.
