An Ordinary Adventure” is the adventure of a screenwriter who, in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic, finds himself locked up at home to have to write an original story with little time and with absolute lack of ideas and imagination. An original film production created at a time contrary to the production of a film. Totally Unnecessary Production, an independent company based in Montreal, and the Italian Cultural Institute, will present a preview of a work conceived, written, shot, interpreted and edited by the director Roberto Zorfini during the time of the quarantine.

Fare cinema”: a systematic action, conceived by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of promoting quality Italian cinema production abroad, thanks to the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes. An ambitious project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism, uses a multi-annual strategy and the participation of public and private actors in the Italian film industry, particularly ANICA and Istituto Luce Cinecittà. “Fare Cinema” is one of the main strategic actions of the “Vivere ALL’Italiana” integrated promotion plan.

Roberto Zorfini, Italian director, he is seduced at the age of 11 by the world of cinema. Graduated from the Istituto di Stato per la Cinematografia e la televisione Roberto Rossellini, he began his career as a camera assistant at various prestigious film and advertising productions, such as Luc Besson’s Channel 5, at a very young age. He occasionally taught film and cinema in classes in the suburbs of Rome. Later, he continued his career in Italy, as a cameraman, and began directing several independent projects, short films, and finally working for RAI (Italian public television channel) 2000-2010. Fascinated by the liveliness and dynamism Canadian audiovisual industry, he decided to settle in Montreal in 2010. Since then, he has directed, written and worked as a DOP and editor on various commercials, short films, corporate videos and has also developed television projects (documentary series, docu-fiction, fiction) and two feature film projects. He is also involved in the Kino Montreal community, directing award-winning short films presented at the ICFF, TIFF and the Montreal Short Film Festival. Known for his refined aesthetic sense and his talent for storytelling, he enjoys working in a team, he knows how to energize the people he leads, making the most of them. Depending on the fate and the encounters he makes, he finds inspiration for his projects and develops new ideas. For him, creating is not a job, it’s his life! He is currently represented by the Buck Créatifs agency, Yonge Productions in Toronto, by the film production company Totally Unnecessary Productions and is a member of the Association des réalisateurs et réalisatrices du Québec (ARRQ).
