The Italian pianist Stefano Andreatta in concert with the Orchestre Classique de Montréal

Thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal and the Concours Musical International de Montréal, the Italian pianist Stefano Andreatta will perform in Montréal, playing Beethoven and Alexander Brott with the accompaniment of the Orchestre Classique de Montréal.

Founded in 1939 by Alexander Brott under the name of McGill Chamber Orchestra, the now called Orchestre Classique de Montréal is considered one of the most ancient and affirmed chamber orchestras in Canada. In its 80 years of activity, the Orchestre presented works by numerous composers from Québec, among which Jean Papineau-Couture, Pierre Mercure, Claude Champagne, Albert Chamberland. The Orchestre is nowadays one of the most vibrant cultural realities of Montréal, it brings together many of the best professional musicians of the city and holds concerts in collaboration with other organizations, such as the Concours Musical International de Montréal, the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada, the Opera McGill and the Opéra de Montréal.

Stefano Andreatta began to study piano when he was seven years old and he made his debut at fifteen playing Beethoven with the orchestra. In 2011, he graduated with highest honors at the “Agostino Steffani” Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto. After that, he continued his professional formation with Jerome Lowenthal at the Music Academy of the West, in Santa Barbara. In 2014 he achieved a Master in Piano Didactics with highest honors. He won numerous prizes both at national and international level, such as the First prize at “Premio Brunelli” in Vicenza and the First prize at the FVG International Piano Competition in Friuli Venezia Giulia. In 2017 he received the Third prize at the Concours musical international de Montréal.
