Valerie Curro Khayat launches her new book of poetry Le radici dell’alba (The Roots of Dawn). In this latest work, she recounts the journey back to oneself through a candid narrative that taps into a deep-rooted emotional core. A story of enrapture, loss, shattering and transformation, as a reflection on wholeness, is offered in a unique voice she calls her “canto libero”. Through a bold poetic approach, she shares improvised writings that read like a series of beautiful raw word-paintings. Valerie Curro Khayat will present this new book through a multidisciplinary performance. This will be followed by a special Q & A period with the artist.

Valerie Curro Khayat, poet and singer-songwriter from Montreal, Canada, writes and performs in Italian, English and French. Continuously moving across disciplines, her candid and deeply poignant compositions are at once strikingly bare and powerful. Valerie’s artistic practice integrates poetry, live music, movement and multimedia components. In addition to writing The Road to Vesper, a collection of original poems, and Resonance in Blue, her first full-length album of original compositions, she has performed live at events and festivals, on the radio and Television, both for homegrown audiences and abroad. She released singles Sospiro in 2016 and L’Ombre de ton silence in 2018, alongside a pair of wistful music videos filmed on location in Rome and Pescara. She is currently working on her sophomore record in Italian.
