The Italian actor Manuel Macadamia at the Festival du bonheur de Montréal

CANCELED due to epidemiological emergency Covid-19

The Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal is pleased to announce that this year, thanks to its support, the Italian actor Manuel Macadamia will perform at the opening night of the Festival du bonheur de Montréal in a show entitled “One More Time”.

Friday March 20th, 2020
Église du Gesu’
1200, rue de Bleury, Montréal (QC)

Manuel Macadamia is an actor and director from Milan. He began his training with the Extramondo teatro theatre company, with whom he collaborated for several productions. He obtained a diploma at the Civica Accademia d’Arte Drammatica Nico in Udine. In the two-year period 2015-2016 he is the creator and curator of the theatral project ONIRO PROJECT, with the collaboration of Monnalisa fashion house. In 2019 he started a collaboration with the brand Album di Famiglia and he presented at the Paris fashion week the works L U X (2019) and [NUDE] (2020). In April 2020 he will take part to the Colpo al Corpo Festival of the Performance with his last creation (Untitled) Odyssea.

One More Time” is the travel account of an ordinary man who decides to leave hoping for a better future: one of the numerous people who nowadays are called migrants. In a historical moment when the “stranger” scares us too often, this performance shows a slice of the life of people who fight to achieve their dreams and who – despite everything- keep trying once again: a way to break down borders and stereotyped labels.

The Festival du bonheur de Montréal is a multicultural and inter-generational event which aims to foster happiness at an individual level and, mainly, as a common good and as an opportunity for social inclusion. The schedule of the second edition of the Festival has a strong international imprint and it includes shows, expositions, short films projections and kitchen labs for kids. The opening night will be held on March 20th, 2020, on the occasion of the International Day of Happiness. During the event dance performances, music and circus arts, with the participation of the OBNL Diversité Artistique Montréal, will be presented to the public.
