Luciano Ventrone was born in Rome in 1942. In 1983 an article written by Antonello Trombadori on “L’Europeo” induced Federico Zeri art historian to take an interest in the artist, suggesting that he tackle the theme of still life. It is here that his long and still incomplete research begins on the various aspects of nature, capturing ever more detailed and almost invisible details in “eyes bombarded by millions of images”, such as those of the men of our age. It is this research by Ventrone that has aroused, over the decades, the attention – as well as that of Federico Zeri – of Sergio Zavoli, Duccio Trombadori, Marco Di Capua, Vittorio Sgarbi, Achille Bonito Oliva, Roberto Tassi, Giorgio Soavi, Edward Lucie-Smith , Beatrice Buscaroli and Eugenia Petrova, to name just a few.

The festival “Giornate del Contemporaneo – Italian Contemporary Art”, organized this year for the second time, in conjunction with the “Contemporary Day” held in Italy since 2005 by AMACI and MIBACT, it aims to promote the artistic heritage abroad contemporary Italian, expressed with the different languages of painting, sculpture, video, installations, photography, design, etc., as part of the integrated promotion mission of the Country System.
