“Leo da Vinci, Missione Monna Lisa” of the Italian director Sergio Manfio

To celebrate the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci, 500 years after his death, this year the Italian Cultural Institute, on the occasion of the 2nd edition of the Festival “Fare Cinema“, is pleased to present Sergio Manfio’s film, “Leo da Vinci, Missione Monna Lisa“.

Leo Da Vinci : Artist, inventor, genius. Upon returning from the lake where Leo had tested his latest invention, he makes a horrible discovery: Lisa’s house and fields have mysteriously burst into flames. To help Lisa and her father, who have lost everything, Leo decides with the young girl, to go off in search of a hidden treasure. During their journey, Lisa and Leonardo meet Niccolò, a Polish boy fond of stargazing. They are also helped by Agnes, a lively young girl. With sinister pirates looking to beat them in the search for the treasure, it isn’t long before our heroes realize that their mission is a difficult one.

Born in Treviso, Italy on May 20, 1952, Sergio Manfio is a director, known for his films: Cuccioli: Il codice di Marco Polo (2010), Symo & Rose (2013) and Leo Da Vinci: Mission Monna Lisa (2018). Besides being a director, Manfio is an esteemed actor, and appreciated theatrical author. He is the President and the Creative Manager of Gruppo Alcuni.

Fare Cinema” is an action system, devised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of promoting abroad, thanks to the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, the Italian quality film production. An ambitious project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, makes use of a multi-annual strategy and the participation of public and private actors in the Italian film industry, particularly ANICA and Istituto Luce-Cinecittà. “Fare Cinema” is one of the main strategic actions of the integrated promotion plan “Vivere All’Italiana“.
