Sophisticated melodies, Italian cinematographic ambiences and intense, sometimes tribal rhythms: this is the musical sketch of Italian drummer and percussionist Simone Prattico, an exceptional musician with an eclectic career and prestigious collaborations from all horizons (Paris Chamber Orchestra, Hindi Zahra, Ibrahim Maalouf, Piers Faccini, Daniele Silvestri..). Tinted with Afro-funk colors, it is a contemporary jazz, made of encounters and miscegenation, but always respecting tradition. Between modernity and swing, between learned music and popular melodies Simone Prattico offers a captivating alchemy between his Mediterranean culture and the imprint of African-American music.

In the same period, and he discovers a passion for the richness of Afro-Brazilian musical culture. In Paris he will receive the CA (certificate of aptitude for teaching) at the École supérieure de batterie Emmanuel Bourseault. In fact, he starts to play in jazz clubs and at various theaters of the capital.
In the 90s he was called to play with the main pop artists of the moment (Daniele Silvestri, Gianni Morandi, Marina Rei, Max Gazzè, Mike Francis, and many others). Thanks to numerous collaborations, he plays in the main clubs, theaters and festivals in Europe, Japan and the United States. In 2011 in New York, Simone forms the trio with Klaus Mueller (piano) and with Brandi Disterheft (double bass). From this meeting his first project was born as a leader, in the album “Brooklyn Sessions“. The imprint of the Mediterranean sounds, the groove and the swing of African-American music is the fundamental element of his way of playing and “feeling” the music.
