Conference in Italian

Affection, affair, contribution. Recounted through the gracious act of cooking. The visual work explores the poetry, the density and strength of tradition, which in this work is the protagonist. The contemporary era forces the individual to live in continuous movement, creating easy and innovative digital media that overwhelms our relationships in cold and disembodied way. Tradition becomes a real and tangible communication tool, a sensory communication that through substance creates physical relationship and sharing.

Luigi Capasso is an Italian photographer and filmmaker. His connection with video camera’s and photography started in his adolescent years. As son of a videographer assisted in his father’s various shooting and received the basic knowledge of framing, lighting and time. After graduating from Liceo Artistico, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples where he obtained the title in Painting and specialization in Public art. In the dynamism of the Parthenopean cultural life, he builds his own versatility. He studied Neapolitan Baroque, worked as a set designer for various theater companies and it is in this he begins to experience photography on stage. His closeness to this world is a significant factor in his poetry. His works are staged where space, light and performance come together harmoniously to communicate stories and visions of the current reality. He grew up in the poor outskirts of Naples where he put his sensibility and professionalism for the community. He works as a filmmaker for Legambiente Campania, carrying out videos and commercials for the national territory. Creator of commercials, collaborates with head of communications with Libera and the Comitato Don Peppe Diana, Non profit organisation working on national territory, on projects involving the management of confiscated assists from mafia. Since 2013 he lives in Montreal with his partner Sara. Together they founded Zoomlab, a visual art production laboratory, in 2015.
